Google Zeitgeist BMX
Google recently released its annual rundown of popular searches for 2008, what they call the “zeitgeist” list. Believe it or not, “BMX” made it to the list of the year 2008. In the category Olympic Sports it placed 8th.

I'm really excited about the evolution of BMX, it's probably one of the fastest growing sports of the last few years. Steppin' up the game!

Hairy Christmas and Crappy New Year
The Feel BMX team sends out their wishes with this warm visual message.

It's actually designed by one of my close friends, El Tipo Loco is the name and designing cool stuff is his game. Forget Troy Lee Designs, if you want something original and extremely phat take a look at eltipoloco.com.
We are very pleased to announce the new site is up and running. We changed the name to “Feel BMX” due to the fact that there are already several sites with BMX Action in the domain name, and because the bmxaction.com domain name was taken by a guy in Las Vegas.

I contacted him asking to buy the domain name, because he only used it to display a parking website with ads, and he replied with: “I'll sell the domain name for a 5 figure amount in US dollars”

That was a bit over the top, ya feel me...

Feel BMX Logo

We have added some really cool new features to the new site:

- You can add comments to member videos and photos
- The BMX road trip planner on the spots page
- Feeds page with the rss news of all the major BMX sites
- Spots and Logs on the member pages
- and some more...

If you find something that doesn't work as expected, please report it here or on the board. Cheers and the best wishes!

SE BMX Quadangle
April, 2008 - DC and SE Bikes have joined together to release the Quadangle, a classic frame from SE’s stable. The “Loop Tail Quad”, as it was known, will be the second joint release from the DC x SE partnership. The two brands released a recreated PK Ripper in April of 2007. Less than 500 redesigned Quadangle bikes will be released Spring 2008 to exclusive shops worldwide.

"This bike is an absolute work of art... a testament to the design brilliance of Scott Briethaupt, and the inventive SE Racing ethos of that time,” said DC Co-Founder Damon Way. “We are truly honoured to have the opportunity to align with SE to deliver a project of this caliber".

The 2008 DC x SE Quadangle has been redesigned in a new aesthetic. It has been revamped as a 24-inch cruiser, the first time this larger size has ever been featured on this bike. Like the original 1979 version, the bike features a black frame, but custom DC x SE pads and head badge have been added, to keep shared branding with the first DC x SE project, the PK Ripper.

The original SE Quadangle was created in 1979 as Stu Thompson’s signature bike. It was quickly dubbed the “STR-1”, which stood for “Stu Thompson Replica 1”. After some design changes it was given several new nicknames including the “Quadangle” and “Loop Tail Quad” based on its new design. This version would be made from 1979 to 1982 before being updated into a newer non-loop tail design.

The frame would go through additional design changes in the following years and a new frame was created in 1984. SE used the newly designed Quadangle to address the rising popularity of the Freestyle market by adding frame standers, a coaster brake mount and a steeper head tube angle. This would be referred to as the “Freestyle Quad” and was coupled with a new version of its custom “Landing Gear” fork called “Standing Gear”. This new version of the frame and fork would only be offered in 1984 and 1985. From 1985 to 1994 the design remained untouched. By the late 1990’s the frame was converted over to alloy from the original steel construction, which forever changed the aesthetic of the design.

This 24-inch Quadangle is the second in a series of three limited edition bikes from DC and SE Bikes, all designed to embrace the heritage of the brand and the sport. Truly a collector’s item,

production will be limited to less than 500 bikes. For more information on the project, please visit www.dcshoes.com/quad.
BMX Monster Calender
Do you know when the X Games takes place? Ever thought it would be really useful to have an extensive calendar of every action sports event so you can see what's on where and when? Well Freecaster did, so they made one!

The Monster Calendar is accessible via the Frecaster.tv web site. It consists of 13 different action sports divided by color, corresponding to the Freecaster.tv channel color code. Calendars with the individual sports can be found on their respective page but the main attraction is the Monster full view with details of all sports, from all over the world, all year round. You can also select a few different sports to create your own view by clicking on the down arrow beside the agenda tab.

Maybe you already noticed we haven't posted much news the past week. That's because we have been working on some new features for the profile pages. If you are a site member you will now be able to add a really cool slideshow for your photos on the main profile, another feature is that you can invite up to 5 friends at once to become friends in the BMX Action Community.

Sending a emoticon in a holler is now a peace of cake with the emoticon toolbar. We're also planning to add a style setting in the profiles which you can use to change the colors of different objects and set a centered or stretched background image in your profile.
