ASA Entertainment reaches one million kids with the 10th anniversary of the ASA Action Sports High School Tour in support of the campaign for tobacco-free kids.
Los Angeles (March 17, 2009) – ASA Entertainment, the leader in action sports event production, is excited to announce that with the launch of their 2009 ASA High School Tour it will celebrate 10 years of support for the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. Since 2000, ASA has traveled the country visiting high schools with a mobile action sports tour, featuring top skateboarding, BMX and inline skating pros performing unimaginable tricks on a portable half-pipe during on campus assemblies, while disseminating an important anti-tobacco cause message through announcements, trivia questions, brochures and attention grabbing performances. The riders and Tour staff educate students about the dangers of tobacco use, the risks associated with second-hand smoke and ways to combat the pressure to start smoking. In 2009 the ASA High School Tour will reach its 1,000,000th student with this Tour and its critical message.
“We are so pleased to make such a positive impact on students throughout the country with this tour”, said Rick Bratman, CEO of ASA Entertainment. “Tobacco prevention is an issue near-and-dear to everyone at ASA and we are grateful to all the schools, sponsors, staff and athletes during the past 10 years who have helped us reach this milestone and spread this important message.”

As most of the internet knows, Karl Poynter is now riding for Eastern Bikes. We are excited to have such an original rider and a cool guy on the team. He’s going to add to the already strong team that Eastern has and contribute a part to the new Eastern full-length team video.
I asked Karl what he liked in a company and he had this to say; “The ingredients for a growing BMX company would be quality products of course, a solid fun lovin' team, and a good staff/family running the brand, which I believe Eastern has it all.” And to be more specific I asked him what it was he liked about Eastern. “The people who operate and run the brand, the quality and design of the products, and definitely the team are what makes Eastern a perfect fit for me”, was his response. “I'm really close to the majority of the team already and can't wait to hangout and ride with the members that I don't know as much as the others. The team is definitely a good mix of guy's with diverse personalities who are always having fun”, Karl said about the team.
Adam Banton added this about Karl; “No brakes and freecoaster was Karl’s set up before it was trendy. Dialed riding, clean style and approachable personality is what makes him a young influence. He adds value to Eastern’s strong brand and more smiles and laughs on team trips for the future. Welcome hot Karl!” So with that I just want to welcome Karl to the team and just keep watching for big things to come.

Google recently released its annual rundown of popular searches for 2008, what they call the “zeitgeist” list. Believe it or not, “BMX” made it to the list of the year 2008. In the category Olympic Sports it placed 8th.
I'm really excited about the evolution of BMX, it's probably one of the fastest growing sports of the last few years. Steppin' up the game!

The Feel BMX team sends out their wishes with this warm visual message.
It's actually designed by one of my close friends, El Tipo Loco is the name and designing cool stuff is his game. Forget Troy Lee Designs, if you want something original and extremely phat take a look at eltipoloco.com.

We are very pleased to announce the new site is up and running. We changed the name to “Feel BMX” due to the fact that there are already several sites with BMX Action in the domain name, and because the bmxaction.com domain name was taken by a guy in Las Vegas.
I contacted him asking to buy the domain name, because he only used it to display a parking website with ads, and he replied with: “I'll sell the domain name for a 5 figure amount in US dollars”
That was a bit over the top, ya feel me...

We have added some really cool new features to the new site:
- Possibility to select the Top Rated, Most Viewed, Most Discussed Videos
- You can add comments to member videos and photos
- The BMX road trip planner on the spots page
- Feeds page with the rss news of all the major BMX sites
- Spots and Logs on the member pages
- and some more...
If you find something that doesn't work as expected, please report it here or on the board. Cheers and the best wishes!
